In the framework of the European LIFE call project led by Capital Energy, BESS storage systems are installed in two photovoltaic generation plants in Albacete, La Encantada I and La Encantada II, with capacities of 3 MW/6.3 MWh and 2 MW/4.9 MWh respectively.

In this project, a BESS storage system of 3 MW and 6.3 MWh is implemented in a 3.84 MW photovoltaic generation plant (La Encantada I) located in Albacete, and another BESS of 2 MW and 4.9 MWh nominal also in a generation plant 3.84 MW PV, La Encantada II (Albacete).
This project belongs to the European LIFE call and its innovation lies in the fact that 100% of the battery modules are second-life batteries (batteries that come from vehicles), promoting recycling and re-circularity aspects. The consortium is made up of Capital Energy as leader and responsible for the project, HESStec, CEN, Beeplanet, Envirobat and Zabala.
In this project, HESStec’s task is to provide the control system for the entire plant thanks to its InMS®, with the aim of implementing different functionalities or network services under optimal operation of the assets, real-time control and compliance with the technical requirements for connection and operation of MPEs.
